Effect of dietary supplementation of inulin and Bacillus subtilis on growth performance, survival rate of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Abstract
Introduction: Probiotics are microbial additives give benefit effect to the host population by
improve intestinal microbial balance. In addition, Prebiotic promotes the growth of beneficial
bacteria in the digestive tract. Prebiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics have been successfully
used in dietary supplements to achieve aquatic animal health and therefore increase the quality
and sustainability of fish production. The aim of this study was effects of inulin and Bacillus
subtilis on growth and survival rate of rainbow trout.
Materials & Methods: For this purpose, inulin and B. subtilis effects were evaluated in
different amounts in 2 treatment (T1=inulin 2g+ B. subtilis 8×109; T2= inulin 2g+ B. subtilis
16×109) and one control group. As the 450 fish (4.34±0.66 g; 6.27±0.88 cm) in 5 basins
concrete release for 2 months were reared. At the end, the rainbow trout biometric was
calculated according to various formulas.
Results: After 60 days, investigated the effect of simultaneous use of probiotics B. subtilis and
prebiotics inulin on growth factors and survival rate in rainbow trout found that concurrent use
of these can improve growth factors in treatment 2 (inulin 2g+ B. subtilis 16×109).
Conclusion: Overall, the study can be showed that inulin and B. subtilis have positive effect
on growth factors in rainbow trout.
