Abstract

Abstract: The integration of insecticides and plant-derived compounds presents a promising strategy for enhancing pest control efficacy in agricultural systems. This research paper explores the mechanisms of synergism that arise from the interactions between these two classes of compounds. Synergism occurs when the combined effect of two or more agents exceeds the sum of their individual effects, potentially leading to improved pest management outcomes while mitigating resistance development. We begin by defining key concepts and categorizing types of synergism, followed by an overview of various insecticide classes and their modes of action. Plant-derived compounds, known for their bioactive properties, are examined for their roles in disrupting insect physiology and behavior. The core of this research paper focuses on elucidating the biochemical, physiological, and ecological mechanisms underlying synergistic interactions, such as enzyme inhibition, enhanced uptake, and inter-species relationships.
