STRENGTHENING OF THE FRUIT WINE INDUSTRY IN KALINGA
Abstract
The emergence of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the province of Kalinga is greatly characterized by the processing of products that are already preset in the Kalinga communities such as wine processing from the available supply of fruits within the locality. The wine processors are given support by the Local Government Units and the Department of Trade and Industry by coordinating trade fairs where they can display and sell their products. These activities encourages the wine processors to really go into the business. Although wine producers in the province of Kalinga concentrate on the production of bugnay wine they also process other fruit wines using fruits in season such as pineapple, lemon ad wild cherries.
