Evaluation of adding different levels of green tea in the diet on growth, survival and chemical composition in the muscle tissue of Ctenopharyngodon idella

Introduction: This study was performed to evaluate the different amounts of green tea
powder in the diet on the growth, survival and chemical composition of
Ctenopharyngodon idella muscle tissue.
Materials & Methods: 240 pieces of Amur juveniles with an average initial weight of
18.24±2.07 g was selected and after adaptation to the environment were selectively stored
in 12 tanks and 20 pieces in each tank. Four diets include treatment one (control diet 5%
binder), treatment two (1.5% green tea and 3.5% binder), treatment three (3% green tea
and 2% binder), treatment four (5% tea) Green) was prepared.
Results: The results showed that the highest amount of carbohydrates and fiber in
treatments 2 and 4 at 1.20±0.14% and 0.14±0. 01 % were affected by green tea powder
and significantly more than the treatment. Was the control (P<0.05). The highest moisture
content in treatment 4 was 75.80±0.30 % and the lowest in treatment 1 (control) was
74.80±0.30, but the treatments were not significantly different (P <0.05). The highest
amount of protein and ash in treatment 1 (control) was 18.16± 0.35% and 1.5±0.12 %,
respectively, that all treatments did not differ significantly (P<0.05). The highest growth
rate was related to treatment 1 (control) and amounted to 33.46±5.08 g and no significant
difference was observed in all treatments (P<0.05). Survival rate in two treatments 2 and
4 with a significant difference (P <0.05) that had the highest level of survival compared
to two treatments 1 (control) and 3.
Conclusion: In general, it can be concluded that adding green tea powder to the diet
increases the percentage of carbohydrates, fiber and survival .
