Artificial Intelligence in Indian Financial Services: Balancing Innovation, Ethical Governance and Financial Inclusion
Keywords:
Banking Industry, Artificial IntelligenceAbstract
Indian financial services sector is rapidly transforming the banking industry, fintech and regulatory processes because of the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI). The study is qualitative because it seeks to examine the effect of AI on innovation, governance and inclusiveness in the Indian financial industry. On top of the policy documents and control policy analysis, the data collection methods were semi-structured interviews involving the banking executives, fintech startups and the regulators. The findings show that there are three themes that are recurring. To begin with, the AI is facilitating the development of consumer analytics, fraud detection and credit scoring and thus this allowed them to be more efficient and offer more access to financial services. Second, the governance issue and ethics are still of primary concern and should be paid close attention to since they have concerns related to the privacy of information, algorithmic prejudice and interpretability, which are particular to India. Thirdly, the professional roles are changing due to the investments the financial institutions have undertaken in re-skilling and capacity formation to match the staff potentials with AI-driven purposes. The studies add the component of ethical governance to the list of the factors influencing the implementation of AI into the technology-organization-environment paradigm. A proper AI integration by training workers, leaders and an open mind are one of the practical implications. The policy propositions suggest that AI ethics should be used in financial inclusions in India. Overall, the paper lays much emphasis on how AI has played a crucial role in ensuring prosperity both on the financial and equality front in the long term.
