Abstract

During 2010-2011, a faunistic survey of mites family Phytoseiidae in Marvdasht and Shiraz region (Fars province) was conducted after different samples were taken from soil, trees, crops and weeds. In this study 8 species from 4 genera belonging to subfamilies were identified. Among the identified species, 5 species are recorded for the first time from Fars province(*). Some determined specimens are listed as: Subfamily Amblyseiinae (Muma, 1961): Neoseiulus barkeri* (Hughes, 1948); Neoseiulus marginatus* (Wainstein, 1961); Neoseiulus zwoelferi* (Doss, 1957); Proprioseiopsis messor (Wainstein, 1960); Neoseiulus sugonjaevi* (Wainstein & Abbasova, 1974); Phytoseiulus persimilis (Athias-Henriot) and Subfamily Typhlodrominae: Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) khosrovensis * (Arutunjan, 1971) and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) bagdasarjani (Wainstein & Arutunjan, 1967).
