Sustainable Development and Natural Resource Management

Abstract

Sustainable development is crucial for balancing economic growth with environmental conservation and social welfare. The need of the hour is effective natural resource management. We have all inevitably been a witness to the losses of biodiversity and climate happening across the world. The ceaseless manner of environmental degradation emphasizes the need for effective natural resource management, or else the threshold for tolerance will only reach its negative spaces when it comes to natural calamities and intolerable temperatures. The current study explores the theoretical foundations, governance mechanisms and practical strategies associated with natural resource management and sustainable development. We take a dive into varied academic perspectives and theoretical foundations, including international policy frameworks to understand how renewable and non-renewable resources are being managed in this day and age. The goal is to see whether we have reached a point of intergenerational equity and ecological resilience through the policies, technologies and community-based practices that we have right now.
